Obama STABS top Dem in the back

By  |

On Wednesday, former President Barack Obama endorsed several Democrats in races across the country, and notably left out one liberal Congress candidate.

Obama tweeted out his endorsements of several candidates and vowed to hit the stump for some of them prior to the midterm elections.

Unfortunately for liberal darling Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, she did not make the cut for Obama’s endorsements — and it this major snub did not go unnoticed.

With the November midterms fast approaching, there is a clear fracture in the Democratic party between progressive and centrist candidates.

Obama may have not involved himself in the primaries, but with the elections around the corner, Obama has announced his first wave of endorsements on Twitter.

“Today I’m proud to endorse such a wide and impressive array of Democratic candidates – leaders as diverse, patriotic, and big-hearted as the America they’re running to represent,” he wrote on Twitter.

The list of 81 candidates included both former administration and campaign officials.

His endorsements include both established politicians and even some progressive candidates.

Noticeably absent from Obama’s favorites list?

Socialist Ocasio-Cortez.

It seem as though Obama is rejecting her brand of socialism — and Twitter users took note —

Following Wednesday’s release of Obama’s endorsements, his office announced there will be another round coming before November… but many expect that Ocasio-Cortez will not appear on that list, either.

Luckily for Republicans, these endorsements could do more harm than good with the uproar they are causing in the Democratic party.

And for that, we say, thanks Obama.
